Nurses Rock! Happy Nurses Day

Nurses are a special breed.  We see people in their worst, and in their best.  We see life born, and we see life pass.  We see all the adventures, the memories, and the anxiety of the unknowns.  We are with you through it all.  These cards were made for the nurses I have the pleasure of working with every day.  They are the unsung heroes ensure your safety and advocating for your rights.  I am proud to be a nurse and loving the profession I am in.  These cards are dedication to: Rachel, Shannon, Tom, Sammi, Alyssa, Sam, Sandy, Kaitlyn, Phil, Krista, Nicki, Krissy, Nancy, and Leslie.

These cards utilize products from the recent Trinity Stamp release.  When I saw them on the sneak peaks, I set my alarm and had them purchased in record time.  Let’s breakdown how the card was made.

The sentiment from Nurse Appreciation was stamped with Pink Fresh Studio Detailed Black ink on Bristol Smooth watercolor card stock.  Pulling out my Zigs Clean Color Real Brushes, I colored the lettering in an ombre effect with lighter color on the top and darker on the bottom.  Utilizing the lighter color I blended the two colors together.  These panels were die cut out with the label from the Soup Can die.

The card base was prepped next.  Utilizing 110lb card stock, I cut the base for the card.  Digging deep into my stash I found a medium terracotta card stock then die cut with the pill bottle die.  The colored sentiment was die cut out with the label die.  Finally, all the lids were cut out of the same 110lb card stock scraps.

The top of the lids needed some dimension to to give the look that they are further behind the front of the pill bottle.  A light blend of Morning Mist Crisp Die Ink by Altenew was applied on the outside corners heavier than the top and bottom sides of the lid.  A thin piece of foam tape was applied to the embossed white rims of the pill bottle.

To assemble the cards the bottle and label were glued flat to the card base.  The lid was applied flat to the top section of the card.  Finally, the embossed rim piece was adhered with some foam tape.

This simple shaped card has so much meaning as the team of nurses that I have the pleasure to work with will be receiving these on Nurses Day.  A day to care for them as they care for others every single day.  I salute you my friends.
